THE LIVER, THE FIRST FILTER OF THE BLOOD
The liver is the biggest and most important gland of the body, which receives – through the portal vein – all the blood flow coming from the intestines. The blood that flows through thus contains both the normal products of food digestion, as well as the toxic substances (toxins) that are freed following the processes of fermentation and putrefaction in malfunctioning intestines. The liver is a wonderful “chemical selector,” that is able to distinguish the beneficial substances from the harmful ones contained in the blood. The harmful substances, both the intestinal toxins and those that entered the blood from the external environment, are blocked, “filtered,” and then neutralized with the suitable chemical reactions. When these harmful substances are found in the blood in great quantities – especially those intestinal ones – and have been there for a long time, this marvelous organ “tires out” and is stressed. In my view, this is the main cause of many liver disorders such as hepatitis and gallstones.
FIRST CAUSE OF HEPATITIS: THE TOXINS
For sure, viral hepatitis, as the name implies, is caused by various types of viruses, due to which, the toxins should firstly play a minor role. Instead, their role is a major one. In fact, the toxins constitute the preferred breeding ground for microbes, on which both bacteria and virus proliferate in a particularly dynamic way, probably because they weaken the tissues and make them prone to microbe attacks. Also the great French scientist, Pasteur – who discovered microbes at the end of his life expressed a concept that resembled the famous phrase: ”The breeding ground is everything for the development of microbes!” And the Austrian doctor and researcher, Franz Xaver Mayr, said: “Microbes, like mice, proliferate wherever food stagnates, and which sooner or later end up in decomposition, liberating the toxins of fermentation and putrefaction.” According to this assumption, therefore, it would be logical to hypothesize that also viral hepatitis is primarily caused by the impregnation of the liver by toxins liberated by microbes from the proliferation of foods stagnating in the intestines, and is only a trigger when contaminated with the virus.
START WITH A BRIEF FAST!
As a starting treatment for hepatitis I would suggest a brief fast. This is specifically the method which along the millenniums was proposed by great doctors – and also by many founders of religions like Moses, Jesus Christ, Mohammed and Buddha – with the aim of depurating and disintoxicating the body. Fasting consists in abstaining from all foods and drinks containing calories for a set time, and which must be carefully personalized so as to achieve excellent result. Mountain source waters, herbal infusions and vegetable broths that contain mineral salts are allowed as much as one desires, but not more than a liter and a half daily, so as not to stress the heart and kidneys.
Nowadays, the human body is so weakened by our frenetic and hyper-civilized life that it is no longer able to bear a long fast like those of the great figures of history. But also very brief fasts may give good results, if repeated several times at a certain period of not less than two weeks in-between, so as not to get too weak.
The most suitable days for fasts are almost always Saturdays and Sundays. In those days the body and spirit will have to rest, though one may certainly take up some light physical or intellectual chore. You must not, however, clamp yourself up in the house, but it would be advisable to take two small walks daily in the pure air.
The first day after the fast it would be better to eat rather little. Besides, you will note that you have less appetite than you would have imagined. Your appetite will usually return on the second and even more on the third day, and it is then that you may start eating normally again. For whatever doubts regarding the diet, write me an email with a description of your disorder, and I will try to give you an answer that suits your case – of course with no obligation on your part.
THE MAYR THERAPY FOR HEPATITIS
Brief fasts alone will certainly not heal hepatitis, but it would be, so to say, the best “start up” for a cure that could lead to giving further and more stable relief from the disorder. This cure created precisely by Dr. F.X. Mayr was: the Mayr Therapy. It aims to clean the intestines, thus the liver and the entire body from toxins, and also prevent them from recurring after the therapy. In a depurated body – and particularly a depurated liver – the viruses have a hard time settling, except if the attack is so massive as to trigger a contamination. For example, a well-depurated person will certainly not get the hepatitis if he goes to a toilet used earlier by hepatitis carriers. Those who have undergone the Mayr Therapy thus have set the best grounds to prevent and also heal hepatitis, though this does not mean that utmost prudence must not be used to avoid contamination in the future!
THE MAYR THERAPY AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE AGAINST GALLSTONES
Also stones in the gall bladder were considered by Mayr as toxins deposited by the bile supersaturated in the gall bladder. In fact the liver secretes bile, which deposits temporarily in the gall bladder. When the liver is impregnated with toxins, also the gall bladder becomes concentrated in toxins (bile acids, cholesterol), that start to deposit in the gall bladder once they reach saturation, and in this way, stones are formed. On the contrary, it can also be assumed that the bile, once depurated and made more fluid by a prolonged Mayr Therapy, can again break down the stones, as long as these have not already become too big. Based on these assumptions the Mayr Therapy may, however, be considered as one of the best preventive measures against gallstones.
