FIRST POINT FOR OBESITY: DINNER!

The first advice I would give for obesity, bloatedness and water retention, most often associated with hypothyroidism, for those who do not want to ruin their health with wrong diets or other damaging methods, is this: remember that it is not breakfast that makes you gain weight, but dinner! What you eat at breakfast is totally used up during the day, while a part of what you eat at dinner accumulates in the body at night, in the form of fat and water retention. And so the real secret for reducing the extra weight and remaining healthy is easily said: make it a habit to have a bountiful breakfast and eat a bit less at dinner. Besides, the two things are closely related since those who skip breakfast certainly will not be able to have enough stamina only with lunch and a small dinner, and so will be forced to have a big dinner.

SECOND POINT FOR OBESITY: CARBOHYDRATES

The second advice for obesity is this: remember that it is not so much the fats that make you gain weight, but the carbs! And without annoying you with the rates of carbs and fats – here’s a sample menu, based on the two precious tips I have just given you.

A MENU SAMPLE FOR OBESITY

For breakfast eat all you wish, in the amounts you wish, with a sole exception:  no foods containing added sugar, meaning saccharose (read the ingredients on the package), that would make the carbohydrates increase too much. Keep in mind that crisp bread and the fruit yogurts almost always contain this, as well as many other packed foods you usually buy. Let me repeat: if in the “ingredients” you see “sugar” or “saccharose,” do not eat it! Instead, honey is always allowed, since in moderate quantities it does not make you gain weight.

At lunchtime do not eat the first dish (pasta, rice or cornmeal porridge), and not even a dessert containing sugar at the end of the meal, in order to limit the carbohydrates; but have your fill with a hearty second dish of meat or fish, and an extra side dish of potatoes or vegetables or salad, seasoned with 15 g of extra-virgin oil, plus 30 g of bread or similar baked products. Finally, if you are still very hungry, have a juicy fruit or some fruits rich in fat (oily fruit).

At dinnertime the pattern is similar to lunch, but with a great difference in amounts: eat exactly half of what you ate at lunch. Of course, do not have any snack during the day: three meals a day are more than enough for anyone.  If you have doubts, send me an email and I will answer you. And good luck to your figure!

BUT YOU NEED SOMETHING MORE 

However, you will see that this diet will not suffice to make you maintain the weight you lost. In reality some of the many “weight-losing diets” you read about and see on TV do not differ much from this, even if it is surely one of the best. But to preserve your figure and keep it in perfect health for the rest of your life, you need something more.
