UNRELIABILITY OF MANY FOOD INTOLERANCE TESTS
There is a lot of talk nowadays about food intolerance, but not all the intolerance tests done are totally reliable, as many of us know. It may occur that food we digest easily and has no bad after-effects, has been declared to be noxious, while food that always does us harm has not been put on the list of harmful foods. I think that the most reliable of all the food intolerance tests is the gradual reintroduction of foods after a fast, and many qualified allergy specialists would agree with me.
REINTRODUCING SUSPICIOUS FOODS AFTER A FAST
So this is how you go about it. Do a day of complete fasting, drinking only water, and a second day in which you eat normally, adding only one type of food among those you suspect to be harmful. If no disorders arise, on the third day, add another food suspected to be harmful. If again no disorders arise, continue in the same way, adding another suspected food per day, until you perceive a certain discomfort that may be immediate or may arise after a few hours. You thus eliminate that food and continue the test, adding other suspected foods a day, always eliminating those that give disorders. In this way, after a certain number of days, we will finally have clear ideas on which foods are good and which are harmful.
A VERY USEFUL FOOD INTOLERANCE TEST FOR YOUR HEALTH
It is important to take note of this procedure, or one that is conceptually similar, which must precisely be applied after every fast done for therapeutic purposes (see the page on fasting on this site), if you want the beneficial effects of the fast to last longer. And another similar procedure you can undertake is also the Mayr Therapy, or rather, the gradual reintroduction of foods to test their effects on the body. Then regulating oneself as a consequence, is one of the fundamental pillars of the Mayr Therapy. In effect, the gradual reintroduction of foods after the first phase of the Mayr Therapy, that of disintoxication, is even more delicate and longer than the disintoxication itself, and has to be continuously monitored by a medical specialist. It is precisely in this second phase called reconstruction that you build your dietary program which will give the utmost health and energy, and which you will spontaneously follow throughout your lifetime. Of course, the diet will not always be the same, but will vary with time according to your habits and life circumstances. But we could always repeat our intolerance test which we will by then be very familiar with, any time. The choice of our dietary regime is so important for our health that it is worthwhile to carry out this intolerance test now and then, whenever we have some days of relative serenity.
