THE CAUSE OF DIZZY SPELLS
Dizzy spells or giddiness or labyrinthitis – that have a lot in common with vertigo and loss of balance, and that can lead to the Ménière’s disease – are really bothersome disorders that are worrisome to those who are affected. In my view, one of the most frequent causes of these disorders is the presence in the blood of long-chain alcohols that originate from intestinal fermentation of starchy foods. The vestibular nerve of the ears of some people – nerve responsible for the sense of balanced position of the body – gets easily irritated by these alcohols, and thus explains the horrid sensation of “seeing the room whirl around you” even when you are lying down in bed.
DIZZY SPELLS? LESS CARBOHYDRATES AT DINNER!
Given that the intake of carbohydrates at dinner mostly tend to ferment in the intestine – due to the peristaltic movements that slow down during the night – the first advice I give to those suffering from giddiness is to radically reduce them in their evening meal. The carbohydrate foods are all those vegetable foods (fruits, vegetables and cereals), plus refined sugar and honey. So try to eat in the evening, with moderation, almost only animal foods (meat, fish, eggs, cheeses, yoghurts, but not milk that contains milk carbohydrates or lactose), accompanied by not more than 30 g of well-chewed bread. If you wish, you may also sip a glass of good wine. In fact, wine does not ferment long in the intestine, given that the carbohydrates that were contained in the grapes are all fermented in the barrel and are transformed into ethyl alcohol which can no longer ferment. However – obviously – if you drink too much wine, the ethyl alcohol excessively rises in the blood, and in high concentration can also provoke giddiness, as we all know.
A RADICAL CURE FOR GIDDINESS: THE MAYR THERAPY.
So try out this dietary experiment for a week, so that it can give the outcomes desired. And if you wish, send me an email to relay the result, along with the detailed history of your disorder. I will do my best to answer you – with no obligations on your part – and to give some other advice that would suit your particular condition. If the spinning sensation is very intense and frequent, and if accompanied by other disorders, I strongly believe that the Mayr Therapy would do you good. Carefully read this page on my site, which contains other useful information on the causes of your disorders.
REMEMBER: LEARNING TO CONTROL YOUR DIET WILL HELP YOU CONTROL YOUR HEALTH!
