THE MANY CAUSES OF TUMMY ACHE
There are various types of tummy ache (abdominal pain) – for example, pain in the upper and central parts of the abdomen, often also called stomach ache – which may arise for many reasons. It is obvious that in case of chronic abdominal pain, you should address a gastroenterologist who will prescribe some suitable tests to possibly reach a diagnosis of the disorder, that may not always be possible, since in various cases, there is no certainty of identifying the disorder that is causing abdominal pain. The intestines with the abdominal organs around them constitute, in fact, such a complex system that at times not even the most sophisticated, modern diagnostic instruments are able to explore their minute details.

There are many diseases – not only gastroenterological ones – that can cause abdominal pain, and only in this site have I described some of the most widespread gastroenterological types, among which are ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel, diverticula, diverticulitis, hiatal hernia, gastroesophageal reflux, gastritis, Crohn’s disease, and duodenal ulcer. If you have been diagnosed with one of these diseases, you will find the advice I give in the corresponding pages very useful. If instead you have been diagnosed with another disease, you may contact me if you wish, via telephone or email, and I will do my best to give you some advice, of course with no obligations on your part. But in case you have not obtained a precise diagnosis, I can give you some generic suggestions that can be followed with no danger at all and will give you some relief while waiting to continue other tests.
GENERIC ADVICE FOR TUMMY ACHE
It consists in doing some short fasts, with appropriate intervals between the fasts. In fact, in case of abdominal pains arising from uncertain causes, to gain relief of the symptoms there is a very mild and safer means which is that of allowing the entire digestive system to take a total rest, that is, by fasting. The procedure is very simple. Choose a day in which you can really rest, that is, allowing not only the digestive organs to rest, but also the muscles and your spirit. So it would be better to choose a non-working day and when you are not subject to other stress. And so, for the whole day, do not eat anything solid or calorific, but drink the amount of natural liquids you wish, such as mountain-source waters, but also vegetable broths or herbal infusions prepared with water. The total amount of water must not exceed a liter and half daily, so as not to overly stress the heart and kidneys. Lie down or remain seated for a few hours to save on energy, but on the contrary, it is also indispensable to take a few short walks in the open air. As to the rest, you can also do light and relaxing chores.
The fast should be repeated once a week for a number of times, until you note an improvement of the tummy ache. Then if you wish, call me or write me via email, and I will see if I can find a method that could bring about a further and possibly stable improvement.
REST IS NECESSARY FOR ANY DISEASE!
