SYMPTOMS OF CYSTITIS
Many of us know about the discomforts of cystitis which include a burning sensation when passing urine, bladder pain and pressure, frequent urge to urinate, the passing of small amounts of urine, diffused discomfort in the lower abdomen, and at times, the presence of blood at the end of urination. The remedy of course is to consult a kidney doctor who will perform the diagnostic tests and prescribe the suitable treatments. But what I intend to do here is to give an outlook on the causes of some urinary disorders, especially cystitis and infection, or the presence of toxic substances in the urine that irritate the bladder, and suggest a natural method that can give some type of relief.
FASTING AS AN IMMEDIATE RELIEF FOR CYSTITIS
The preliminary treatment I recommend for cystitis – and which can be a first approach while awaiting the lab tests and diagnostic sessions for your condition would be – fasting, which I consider as absolutely the best detox treatment ever. Try fasting for one to two days, and drink only mountain water, herbal teas or vegetable broth, and refrain from eating or drinking any other types of drinks. The best days for fasting are those in which you can really rest, i.e. staying most of the time at home, taking up some small physical or mental chore, alternated during the day with one or two short walks in the open air. The day after your fast, you may start again to live a normal life, and eat as you wish.
You must not worry about probable small disorders that may arise on the second day, such as headache, fatigue, smelly sweat, white tongue, or diarrhea: these are precisely the signs of the “detox crises.” These crises must not be a reason to suspend fasting, but rather, be taken as positive signs, that indicate that the body is undergoing a detoxification, and is in reality a “healing crisis”! Remember, however, that the cystitis improvement you are hoping for will not come about immediately after the fasting, but usually after a few days.
THE MAYR THERAPY AS A PREVENTIVE METHOD
Brief fasts are part of the Mayr Therapy, and is usually done at the start of the treatment, for a variable time of one to three days. The Mayr Therapy, as you may see in my site, covers other therapy techniques (the first of which is a highly personalized diet), and which in my view, is one of the best methods in preventing further attacks of cystitis, precisely because it stably reduces to the minimum, the production of endogenous toxins that flow into the urine.
REMEMBER: LEARN TO FAST CORRECTLY TO LIVE LONGER AND BETTER!
